World of Tanks 1.0: New Graphics Engine and Revamped Maps
Wargaming, the developers of World of Tanks, have released a major update for their main title. The update is called World of Tanks 1.0 and brings a complete visual and audio overhaul of the game.
The main feature of the update is the new graphics engine called Core, which was developed by the company itself. The new engine allowed to enhance the graphics drastically by adding new high-resolution textures and detailed visual effects, and all this without increasing system requirements.
All 29 maps were not only visual updated, but also the developers tried to improve balance by changing the landscape and adding additional objects here and there which can be used in various strategic situations. In addition to that, a completely new map was added to the game called Glacier. The developers also stated that they will keep balancing and updating the maps after 1.0 release.
The update also brings new audio to the game, including over 60 unique pieces and new ambient sounds. Each map will have a new unique music, which dynamically adapts to the combat situation.
